Square D MJL36700 PowerPact MJL MCCB Unit

Module Feature

MJL36700 is a M-frame moulded case circuit breaker under Square D PowerPact series. It adopts feed-through lug connection design, fitted with LI thermal magnetic trip unit, provides overload long time delay and instantaneous short-circuit protection. Rated current 700A, 3-pole, rated voltage 600VAC, interrupting capacity Icu 65kA at 480V. Auxiliary contact, alarm switch and shunt trip accessories are optional. Widely stocked as spare for industrial low voltage switchgear, factory feeder and heavy load distribution panels.

Working principle

Thermal and magnetic sensing assemblies continuously monitor three-phase load current. Thermal element triggers inverse time delayed trip under overload condition. Magnetic element reacts instantly when severe short-circuit current occurs to separate main contacts and isolate fault. Auxiliary contacts output breaker ON/OFF and trip status signals to upper control system.

Onboard components

Thermal-magnetic LI trip unit, main contact set, arc extinguishing chamber, spring energy storage operating mechanism, feed-through terminal lugs, operation handle and reinforced insulated housing.

LED indicators

Front mechanical status indicators show ON, OFF and trip position.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Passive thermal magnetic trip design without electronic self-check. Protection setting is fixed by trip unit rating.

Programming software

Not applicable, no configuration software required.

Installation

Cut off upstream power supply before replacement. Install breaker on busbar support, tighten incoming and outgoing lug bolts, wire auxiliary or shunt trip accessories if equipped, test close, open and protection trip function after commissioning.

Interface

Three-phase feed-through main power terminals, auxiliary / alarm contact terminals, shunt trip coil terminals.

Diagnostic

Overload trip: Continuous load current exceeds thermal threshold. Instant short trip: Short circuit on downstream cable or load. Failed closing: Mechanism locked or trip latch engaged.
