Module Feature

VLPLX-200P3-ECM belongs to Toshiba Velconic servo drive family.

It is a high-power AC servo amplifier with 20kW power rating, supporting three-phase AC main input. It accepts pulse train or analog ±10V control signal from upper controller, and matches with Velconic servo motor for closed-loop position, speed and torque control. It integrates overcurrent, overvoltage, overload, overheat and encoder fault protection. It can be equipped with optional encoder feedback cable, brake terminal and communication interface. It is widely used for CNC equipment, robotic transfer stations and heavy-duty automation production lines for spare replacement.

Working principle

The drive rectifies AC input into DC bus, then outputs PWM sinusoidal current to servo motor winding.

It receives position command, compares it with encoder feedback signal, and adjusts output current in real time to realize high-precision closed-loop motion control. It stores alarm codes and fault records locally when abnormal conditions occur.

Onboard components

Rectifier module, IGBT inverter unit, DSP control board, current sampling circuit, encoder feedback interface, brake resistor terminal, status indicator panel, power terminal block.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power ready, servo-on status, alarm fault and encoder communication status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temperature, encoder disconnection and overload. Fault codes can be checked on local panel or Toshiba servo configuration software.

Programming software

Toshiba Velconic Servo Setup Tool, used for gain tuning, electronic gear setting, alarm history reading and parameter backup.

Installation

Mount the driver vertically inside control cabinet, keep ventilation clearance. Connect main power, motor cable, encoder feedback and control signal wiring, perform auto-gain tuning before formal operation.

Diagnostic

Servo cannot enable: Emergency stop circuit active, control power missing or encoder wiring fault. Overload alarm: Motor mechanical jam, load overweight or gain parameter unreasonable. Position deviation alarm: Encoder loose connection or pulse command loss.
