Products Description

ABB AO2020 Advance Optima Gas Analyzer Unit

Module Feature

AO2020 belongs to ABB Advance Optima AO2000 series continuous gas analyzer with standard 19-inch rack mounting structure. It adopts modular architecture and can be equipped with multiple measuring modules for different gas components, such as NDIR for CO, CO2, NO, paramagnetic oxygen sensor, thermal conductivity cell and flame ionization detector. It supports automatic calibration by zero air or built-in calibration cell, no regular span gas cylinder required for routine calibration. It has built-in graphic display, keypad, configurable analog and digital I/O, and multiple communication interfaces for upper DCS or SCADA system. Hazardous area versions with ATEX approval are optional. Widely used in power plants, waste incineration, petrochemical and industrial boiler flue gas continuous emission monitoring.

Working principle

Sample gas from pre-conditioning system flows into the selected sensor module. Different physical principles are applied for gas component concentration measurement, including non-dispersive infrared absorption, paramagnetic effect, thermal conductivity and flame ionization. The main controller collects measurement signals, calculates engineering values, stores trend and event logs, and outputs analog or digital signals. It triggers alarm when concentration exceeds set threshold or internal fault is detected.

Onboard components

Main control unit, graphic touch display & keypad, power supply unit, system bus backplane, gas manifold interface, I/O terminal board, communication module slot, replaceable analytical sensor module.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power supply, measuring status, calibration running, fault and communication link.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Continuous self-diagnosis covers sample flow loss, heater fault, sensor drift, internal communication failure, power anomaly and module disconnection, and stores fault records.

Programming software

ABB PC-based configuration software, used for channel setup, range configuration, alarm setting, calibration scheduling, historical data export and firmware upgrade.

Electrical & Process Parameters

Mechanical & Structure

Mounting:Standard 19-inch cabinet rack installation Protection class:IP20 / optional IP54 purged version Housing:Metal rack chassis

Environmental

Operating temperature:5℃ ~ +45℃ Storage temperature:-40℃ ~ +85℃ Ambient humidity:5~95% non‑condensing Certification:CE, ATEX, UL optional Status:ABB original gas analyzer spare

Installation

Install analyzer in well-ventilated rack cabinet. Connect heated sample line, purge gas and exhaust pipeline with correct flow direction. Set component range, alarm limit and automatic calibration cycle after leak test. Clean optical cell and filter element periodically.

Interface

Sample gas inlet, exhaust port, AC power terminal, analog/digital I/O terminals, Ethernet port, Profibus connector, system bus for external modules.

Diagnostic

Low sample flow: Blocked pre-filter, leak in sample line, pump failure. Unstable reading: Contaminated optical cell, improper zero/span calibration, temperature fluctuation. Module communication lost: System bus loose, wrong terminating resistor. Calibration failed: Dirty sensor cell, gas supply pressure abnormal.
