Eurotherm EPOWER/3PH-100A/600V SCR Power Controller Unit

Module Feature

EPOWER/3PH-100A/600V is a three-phase thyristor power controller from Eurotherm EPower series.

It adopts advanced predictive load management technology to adjust output power for resistive heating loads. It supports multiple firing modes and built-in power measurement function. Digital communication interfaces are optional for connecting to PLC and DCS systems. It can suppress harmonic distortion and reduce inrush current, widely stocked as spare for heat treatment furnace, plastic extrusion and thermal process cabinet.

Working principle

The internal SCR thyristor stack controls the conduction angle of AC power according to control setpoint.

The control board continuously samples voltage, current and power value of the load, adjusts output power in real time. It provides load fault detection, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, and feeds back running status and alarm information to upper control system.

Onboard components

Thyristor power stack, current & voltage sensing circuit, main control processor, trigger drive circuit, heat sink with cooling fan, status LED array and metal housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power, run, load fault, overheat and communication status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Internal circuit monitors SCR health, heat sink temperature, load break and overcurrent condition. Configuration is completed by supporting PC software.

Programming software

iTools, used for power curve setup, communication parameter configuration, fault diagnosis and firmware upgrade.

Installation

Cut off three-phase main power before replacement.

Mount unit on cabinet panel, connect main power and heater load wiring, wire control signal and communication cable, configure parameters in iTools, test power regulation and alarm function after commissioning.

Interface

Three-phase power terminals, heater load terminals, analog/digital I/O terminals, Ethernet / Modbus communication port.

Diagnostic

Load break: Heater element burnout or wiring open circuit. Overheat alarm: Fan failure or poor ventilation. Communication loss: Cable damage, station address conflict.
