SICK VIC414-22 VICOTEC410 Sensor Connection Unit

Module Feature

VIC414-22 is a connection unit of SICK VICOTEC410 traffic sensor system. It collects detection signals from up to four field traffic sensors, performs signal preprocessing and forwards data to RCU410 control unit. It provides surge protection and line fault monitoring for each sensor channel. Compact cabinet mounting design, widely stocked as spare for highway, tunnel vehicle detection and traffic management system.

Working principle

Each connected traffic sensor sends vehicle presence and speed signal to this unit. Internal circuit performs channel status monitoring and signal buffering, aggregated data is transmitted to upper RCU410 controller. If any sensor cable is open or short-circuited, the module generates fault alarm for maintenance notification.

Onboard components

Sensor input terminal bank, signal conditioning circuit, surge protection circuit, communication transceiver, status LED array and metal plastic composite housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power, communication active, channel signal and fault status per sensor loop.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Unit monitors each sensor channel line break, short circuit and communication link health. No local parameter adjustment required.

Programming software

SICK RCU410 configuration tool, used for channel mapping and fault log reading.

Installation

Cut off 24V DC supply before replacement. Wire each traffic sensor to individual channel terminals, connect communication cable to RCU410 controller and auxiliary power, verify sensor signal and fault detection after commissioning.
